AI job reqs are starting to describe a person who mostly isn't a technologist.

AI strategy and governance postings, across financial services, CX, and enterprise tech, all show the same thing: financial models, ROI ownership, stakeholder management, influence without authority. AI's in the job. It's not the job.

Not a unicorn who's equally expert in AI and the boardroom. A domain specialist who can run a program, defend a number, or hold a room, with enough AI fluency to not get run over by it.

This is the norm in my pipeline, not the exception. CCaaS veterans layering on GenAI. Risk leaders now running AI governance. Thin AI layer, deep specialist underneath. Most hiring managers hunt the wrong shape: post for an "AI expert," screen out the operator who fits.

26 years finding these people first. That's the job now.
